Best Eco-Boutique Hotels in Tulum

Tulum’s beauty is so dependant on it’s environment. Taking care of nature here is key to preserving Tulum’s charm. That’s why I’m very committed to highlighting properties in Tulum that are actually taking those extra steps that matter.

Eco-friendly is a highly used buzz-word here, and many properties that claim to be eco aren’t truly doing the work. Here’s my favourite lesser-known conscious hotels in Tulum I highly recommend stay at.

How long is enough time?

Anywhere from 3-7 days! The hotel(s) listed below are a healthy mix to suit any and every traveller. From beachfront to boutique suites. I have a recommendation for you.

Zenses Wellness Resort

Recommended for: calming, peace-seeking traveller

Everything you want for a magical stay. It’s conveniently located in the town centre. Blessed in blissful energy, this hotel makes you feel as though you’ve transported a magical healing garden.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a private terrace and hammock. There’s morning yoga classes daily, overlooking the pool area that’ll make you never want to leave.

Playa Esperanza

Recommended for: beachside tropical traveller

Located on the quieter end of Tulum’s hotel zone. Playa Esperanza is my favourite hotel along the beach (and, trust me I’ve been to a lot.) It’s calming, charming and gives you that real boho-beach bungalows feel. They keep their consumption minimal and do what it takes to preserve Tulum’s beauty.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a boho chic vibe. The sound of the ocean from every room is a dreamy touch. My favourite feature is their stunning pool and lounge area overlooking Tulum’s turquoise blue beach.

Eterna Tulum

Recommended for: trendy, budget-friendly traveller

This is one of the newest hotels to hit Tulum town and it’s location and set-up makes it one worth staying at. Eterna is located steps away from the popular main town strip, tucked down a quite road. Their rooftop pool area is likely where you’ll spend most of your day, I know i did.

I stayed in the Junior Suite which offered a private lock-off room, and kitchen/lounge area. There’s also rooms available with private plunge pools. I know this hotel is soon to be one of the most popular in Tulum. You saw it here first!

Muare Hotel

Recommended for: upscale, finer-things traveller

Muare is dreamy. A hotel that makes your jaw-drop, it’s breathtaking, immaculately designed with every little detail covered. From the quality of the bedsheets to the details around the lavish pool area…

The rooms are superb, you can really feel the thoughtful additions in every touch. The room I stayed at included a private plunge-pool and outdoor garden shower, and living area.

Needless to say… I never wanted to leave.
