A Fashionistas Guide To Packing For Bali

Bali travel is on the rise! Who am I kidding, it’s been a hot spot for years. What I will say with confidence though is, Bali packing takes a PRO. You wanna look stylish to keep with with the digital nomads fashion choices but also, keep things minimal and COMFORTABLE!

Bali is hot and sweaty, god bless but this calls for a certain type of style. Here are 10 items I think turns any wardrobe into a fashionable one for Bali.

The Converse Platforms

This is a new item I have added to my packing checklist for Bali and for GOOD reason. The Converse Platform not only adds some length to those gorgeous stems of yours but it also turns any regular outfit into a ‘retro chic one’PRO TIP: Go a size down when you buy as these babies run a bit big.

The Flat Rim Hat

My beloved flat-rim is A MUST. After purchasing my favorite one from Urban Outfitters this summer I soon came to realize it was my secret weapon to turning any PIC, OUTFIT, or vibe into a very fashionable appearance. This hat ALSO travels well which I need to mention cause I feel like that’s a huge concern with from hats in a suitcase PRO TIP: Hit the inside of your hat with socks to keep the form in your luggage.

Coveralls

I have been rocking the coverall dress for a few years now and it still stays one of my favorites and isn’t going out of style. Mix a jean coverall dress with your converses and a bikini under and YOU BE LOOKING SO FLY! PRO TIP:  I have found the coverall dress looks best worn baggy.

Long Maxi Skirt

This look can go so many ways… from turning a casual beach vibe with a bikini top into a sexy ‘classy’ look… To literally wearing this skirt out for cocktails with your closest gals at The W Hotel for cocktails with a cute cropper, or a baggy oversized T ‘tucked in’ The long flowy skirt is seriously trending and I love it because it takes the overthinking away from preplanning your outfits too intimately. PRO  TIP: Grab a skirt with the elastic band in the waistline for extra comfort. The over-sized metal rock T-shirt

This is one of my favorite outfit options!  The mini dress/ over-sized T. Urban Outfitters carries soo many options for this look. You can wear this look on its own with a cute pair of chucks. Especially over a bikini, it’s airy so you don’t need to worry about feeling super-tight in your high waisted jean shorts.  Or you can tuck this Tee into your high waisted shorts for a 90’s retro vibe.PRO TIP: Urban Outfitters has the best selection of ROCK BAND OVERSIZE TEE’s. Drop a line in the comments if you’ve found better.

The Combat Boot

This is one essential I didn’t give much thought about until November 2019… This boot is a all-season MUST HAVE and you can make the most simple of outfits look seriously BADASS---- whether it’s skinny jeans or high waisted jean shorts and a crop top Tee. Micheal Khors sells my favorite boot, I love it so much, I bought it in both colors.

The Mini Backpack

Something about the backpack is WAY more fashionable nowadays than a purse… I mean how annoying is it when you’re trying to go on with your day and the strap KEEPS sliding down. The backpack is COMING back in fashion and it makes a lady look more youthful, stylish, and adventurous in my opinion. PRO TIP: Find a great brand name one for ½ the price on sites like PoshMark

The Fanny

OMG, you heard it right. I am saying YES. Fanny is a travel must. I can’t believe it but I’m on board with the fanny. It’s just so practical for those days where you need to get out but you don’t need much. Say you wanna run down the beach but you’re flying SOLO. The fanny acts as a great way to stay fashion-forward when all a girl needs is a lipgloss, a credit card, and her keys. I found an AWESOME second-hand fanny pack on POSHMARK.

The Bandana Vibe

K. not only does this look cute, but it also serves as a GREAT resource for when its super windy out and you need your hair to stay in place, especially for a PHOTO - DUH! Also, looks real cute when it’s used to tie up your hair in a ponytail.

The Onesie

A great option for when you’re feeling a little bloated and it’s a beach day, or if you wanna spice up an outfit for the day/night with a cute onesie look! I think no suitcase is complete without some version of the very versatile ONESIE baby.
PRO TIP: Buying a  onesie from a swimwear brand might be a little pricer but well worth it when it doubles up your abilities to wear it!

The Retro Shade

You gals already know, I love myself a pair of Bailey Nelson Shades. Bailey Nelson is an Australian Eyewear company that offers affordable, quality frames and as one of their few selected Brand Ambassadors in Canada, I am so proud to REP their 2020 collection, introducing The REBA shade… ESSENTIAL, right?
